Each month under the darkening light of the Waning Moon, I pull cards from The Storm Cloud Oracle to guide us through the coming weeks. After the Dark Moon, a time of dark skies, rest and reflection, the next lunar cycle begins afresh.

For each Dark Moon reading, I pull one card for the collective, a theme for the month, and another for each Zodiac sign. Together they offer insight, wisdom and guidance for the curious and the questioning.

These are your messages from the storm.

The card for all

The Ouroboros

The Ouroboros arrives this February as a reminder that we are always in the process of change, of renewing, of becoming. This ancient symbol - the serpent consuming its own tail - speaks of the eternal cycle of death and rebirth, the way that endings are always beginnings, and how we must sometimes devour our old selves to nourish what comes next.

Take the lessons you learnt on your way to this point and use them to start your next chapter.

Pisces - The Crow

Reading: The Crow appears as Karma's watchful familiar, keeping tally of your deeds and misdeeds. The Crow remembers who showed it kindness and who showed it cruelty. Paired with The Ouroboros - a reminder that each chapter feeds the next - these omens speak of consequence and choice. Who you are becoming is shaped by who you have been, but you always get to choose which parts you remember - which you leave behind, and which you carry forward. Which pieces of your past would you like to take forward on this Dark Moon, dear Pisces, and which will you use as fertiliser for new growth?

Aries - The Pentagram

Reading: The Pentagram is a symbol of protection, of sacred boundaries, of anchoring your energy in all five elements. Paired with The Ouroboros, this reading asks you to bring yourself into balance, Aries. Life isn't just about charging forward, but about ensuring all parts of yourself and your life are working in harmony.

Ask yourself, this Dark Moon, are you feeling balanced? Or is some part of your life pulling you off kilter? If so, it may be time to re-draw your boundaries.

Taurus - The Planchette

Reading: The Planchette asks you to trust the unseen forces guiding you. You love certainty and solid ground, but you are being invited to communicate with the parts of yourself that exist beyond logic, beyond proof and beyond the material. This month, dear Taurus, pay attention to your dreams, your gut feelings and the quiet voice that speaks when your mind finally stops. The Planchette is the bridge between what you know and what you sense. Paired with The Ouroboros, these cards are a reminder that you have navigated uncertainty before - and you will again. Trust your unseen guides.

Gemini - The Rat

Reading: Gemini, The Rat arrives with a message about resourcefulness, adaptability and survival. But paired with the Ouroboros, this isn't about scarcity, it's about recognising that you already have everything you need to begin again.

The Rat thrives in any environment, finds nourishment where others see nothing, and builds community in the shadows. You're being asked to look at what you've accumulated - knowledge, connections, skills, stories - and recognise the wealth you carry. You really don't need anything new.

Cancer - The Swarm

Reading: The Swarm feels like a thousand voices speaking at once, a cacophony of demands, opinions and noise that leaves you feeling consumed. Paired with The Ouroboros, this reading speaks to the cycle of overwhelm - how you keep returning to the same pattern of taking on too much, listening to everyone, losing yourself in the chaos. You don't need to hold space for the entire world, dear Cancer. Sometimes the most radical thing you can do is close the door, silence the noise, and tend to your own small, sacred flame.

Leo - The Evil Eye

Reading: The Evil Eye arrives as both protection and warning. Paired with the Ouroboros, this reading speaks to the cycle of visibility - how being seen can be both a blessing and a curse, and how you must learn to protect your energy while still shining. If you've been feeling the weight of other people's projections, their envy, their expectations, then The Evil Eye reminds you that you have the right to shield yourself from energies that don't serve you. This month, turn a blind eye to what other people are doing or saying and live for yourself.

Virgo - The Witch

Reading: The Witch has a clear message: you are the magic you've been seeking. Paired with the Ouroboros, this reading asks you to reclaim your power. The Witch is a healer, a rebel, a powerhouse. She doesn't ask for permission. You're being called to step into this archetype fully - to trust your skills, your intuition and your ability to transform and heal.

The cycle you're completing is one of self-doubt, of waiting for external validation. You don't need anyone to anoint you. You are already whole, already powerful, already wise. This Dark Moon, claim your power.

Libra - The Poisoned Chalice

Reading: Libra, The Poisoned Chalice is a difficult card, but a necessary one. It speaks to the things that look beautiful on the surface but carry toxicity beneath. You've been drinking from a cup that doesn't nourish you - a relationship, a job, a belief system, a version of yourself that keeps the peace but costs you your truth. This Dark Moon, you're being asked to put down the cup. To walk away from beautiful suffering. You deserve nourishment that doesn't come with a price.

Scorpio - The Double Edged Sword

Reading: The Double Edged Sword is a call to weigh your options with precision, to use your head over your heart, to examine both sides of the blade before you choose. Paired with The Ouroboros, this reading asks you to consider not just the decision itself, but what has led you here and what will unfold from it.

Every choice cuts both ways, Scorpio. What looks like the right path may carry hidden consequences. What feels like loss may be liberation. The Double Edged Sword demands clarity, discernment and the willingness to see the full picture

Sagittarius - The Black Cat

Reading: The Black Cat gifts you the courage to walk your own path this month, Sagittarius. The Black Cat doesn't follow, it leads. It moves with confidence through the dark. It calls you to trust your instincts, to stop justifying your choices, to embrace the parts of yourself that others might misunderstand. Paired with the Ouroboros, this reading celebrates the cycle of freedom you're stepping into. The cycle you're completing is one of seeking approval for your wildness and your rebellion. This Dark Moon, give yourself permission to be misunderstood, to be unconventional, to walk alone when necessary. Your path is yours alone. The Black Cat knows the way.

Capricorn - The Little Apple of Death

Reading: The Little Apple of Death arrives as a warning: not everything that looks safe is safe. Like the fruit of the manchineel tree (apple-like, but deadly) this card asks you to look before you leap, to question what seems too good to be true.

Paired with The Ouroboros, this reading speaks to the cycle of learning through consequence. You've trusted the wrong thing before. This time, you know better. Exercise caution, Capricorn. Not every opportunity is a good opportunity. Trust your instincts over appearances.

Aquarius - The Obol

Reading: The Obol is the coin placed on the tongue of the dead, payment for passage to the underworld. But you cannot place your own coin - someone else must do it for you. This card speaks to the relationships you build now, the friendships you fortify, the legacy you leave behind.

Paired with The Ouroboros, this reading acknowledges that people come and go from your life in cycles - you learn, you grow, you move on, but you are being called to invest in the people who will stand beside you, who will remember you, who will place the coin when the time comes. Ask yourself, dear Aquarius, what have your past relationships taught you about building ones that last?
