It's a New Moon and the longest day of the year, Happy Solstice my loves! It's the perfect time to count your blessings, feel gratitude for all that you have and cut ties with any old, negative energy or past feelings that you don't want to take forward. Let the sunlight refresh you and reinvigorate you, inside and out.
Kerry Ward from Tarot Bella (and Cosmopolitans resident tarot card slinger) has consulted the cards to bring your monthly 'scopes. Kerry offers her guidance on how to work with the energy you may experience in this new moon cycle and I (Clare, of Bonearrow, first of her name, mother of jewels) write your prescription for the perfect crystals to balance your energy.

The twelve signs of the zodiac are categorised into four groups of three signs, each ruled by a particular element. Find your element below to read your tarotscope:
Air - Gemini, Libra, Aquarius.
Earth - Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn.
Fire - Aries, Leo, Sagittarius.
Water - Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces.
The signs ruled by each element are naturally compatible with each other, they ‘get’ each other and share similar values, attitudes and outlooks on life. Birds of a feather fly together. If your coven had a member from each zodiac sign, your other two element signs would be your best witches.
WATER Signs - Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
Two of Swords, Nine of Cups, The Hermit
Why are you denying yourself what you know, deep down, you most desire? The Hermit and the Nine of Cups reveal that you know what it is you want and wish for, but for some reason you have suppressed this urge, and hidden it from the world. In fact, it’s almost like you’d like to hide it from your own view too. Secrets can become a sickness, my friend, and although you are a naturally guarded person, you shouldn’t conceal your true desires. They are not the sort of thing that goes away or quietly, politely leaves the scene.
The Two of Swords asks you to think again. Whatever it is you are dreading or avoiding here, please face it and look it in the eye. What are the consequences that scare you? What are the opinions of others that you’re trying to evade? Know yourself, and know your ~enemy~. You shouldn’t have to twist into different, unnatural shapes to conform to what you think people expect or want. You DO you.
Your Crystal Prescription: Amazonite
Amazonite is a truth-teller. It's known as the Stone of Courage and the Stone of Truth, it inspires you to dig deep and find the truth within and to communicate your true thoughts and feelings. As well as that, Amazonite can increase self-esteem and also to set strong and clear boundaries. Water signs, this sounds just like the stone you need right now.
FIRE Signs - Leo, Sagittarius, Aries
Knight of Swords, Eight of Swords, Four of Cups
Your greatest enemy in life is boredom! The Four of Cups shows you hanging around the threshold of ‘Misery Towers’ again, and it’s all because you’re not inspired or motivated by what’s on your plate right now. The Eight of Swords shows you’ve been here many times before, you know this terrain well! And you know it’s the place you can get into big trouble, because a bored Fire sign is a dangerous Fire sign!
The Knight of Swords has had enough of this repetitive scenario and urges you to circumvent this situation before it even beds in. Make a conscious, forced and positive effort to activate something new and challenging. Set yourself a stretching goal, an inspiring target, an impossible task if you must. Whatever it is, it should get your blood pumping. It doesn’t even have to be real or long-term, it’s just a catalyst to get you active and awake, and avoid this dreaded slump.
Your Crystal Prescription: Carnelian
If you need a boost of vitality and energy, Carnelian is a high energy stone of motivation and positivity. A great crystal for stimulating the mind and the body, and for giving you confidence, carry some carnelian on your person and you'll feel uplifted and motivated for sure!
EARTH Signs - Virgo, Capricorn, Taurus
The Emperor, The Lovers, Five of Pentacles
The Emperor shows that you need to take yourself in hand and focus with intent on something positive and rewarding in your life, or you’re in danger of drifting into regretful and sad territory. Be a boss and boss yourself out of the doldrums. Fake it till you make it!
The Lovers shows how you could go either way this month. If you let your mind settle on what you’ve lost, regretted, are scared of, dread and fear… then you’ll walk that path and it leads deeper and deeper into the shadows. If you focus on the here and now, the pleasure and satisfaction you can reap in each day, then you’ll avoid those murky forests and gulleys.
The Five of Coins shows this is a personal choice. You ARE in charge of how you choose to view current circumstances, and what mindset you’ll adopt. You are typically very stoic and resilient but sometimes that reserve runs dry, and you can tip over into a private misery. You don’t like sharing your feelings. So, don’t drift into this. Catch yourself when your mind veers towards the darkness, and distract yourself with pleasing and relaxing activities till it passes. Which, I promise, it will.
Your Crystal Prescription: Tourmalinated Quartz
This crystal is the best energy cleanser there is. The needle-like threads of Black Tourmaline dispel negative energy and behaviours and Clear Quartz transmutes bad vibes and turns that energy into positive, forward propelling energy, which sounds like that is exactly what you need right now. Clear out that mental and energetic clutter and let Tourmalinated Quartz boost you up.
AIR Signs - Libra, Aquarius, Gemini
Seven of Cups, Five of Swords, Seven of Pentacles
A pause in your life, as shown by the ~cross roads vibe~ of the Seven of Coins, gives you the opportunity to let your imagination off the leash and to ponder and create new ideas and opportunities. The Five of Swords shows that there are people, situations, roles and activities in your life with which you no longer feel a connection. You just don’t get on any more, and you’re not sure why you keep these things going. This is an ideal time to review that, and to consider what you might now leave behind. Lighten the load, it simply frees you up to take more ~new news~ on in the future. It’s natural and normal to move from stuff. We can’t carry everything and everyone we’ve ever had a dealing with.
The Seven of Cups is the imagination card of the tarot and proves that you DO have lots of new ideas brewing about what you’re going to invest in and commit to here on in. Good. Bring these ideas onto paper, manifest them IRL, don’t just let them remain as ~castles in the air~ but make them a firm part of your future reality.
Your Crystal Prescription: Kyanite
You need to cut the cords, Air Signs, and Kyanite is the crystal to help you do that. Kyanite is an energy cleanser and protector, it can help you work through and deal with conflict or disputes. If you have things you'd like to leave behind this new moon, let kyanite free you from them and leave them in the past.
